Water is a fundamental input in textile production and a resource under increasing global pressure. At TenCate Protective Fabrics, our dyeing and finishing processes rely on significant water volumes and produce effluent that must be responsibly treated. As water scarcity escalates worldwide, improving water efficiency is both an environmental responsibility and an operational necessity.
TenCate Protective Fabrics does not withdraw water in volumes that could negatively impact local ecosystems. None of our production facilities are currently located in areas classified as water stressed.
We are committed to enhancing water efficiency through process optimization, smarter dyeing and finishing techniques, and the use of advanced monitoring systems. These efforts aim to reduce freshwater intake and minimize wastewater discharge. For disclosures related to water emissions, see the pollution page.
All water withdrawal at our facilities is managed under site-specific regulatory permits, and each location currently operates well within permitted limits.
We aim to ensure full regulatory compliance by managing water withdrawals responsibly, optimizing operational processes, and avoiding any negative impacts on surrounding ecosystems. This is essential to maintaining our license to operate and supporting sustainable production practices.
